About Me

Hi, I’m Jake. I live in Falls Church, VA and have been a musician since I was in middle school. Clarinet, Cello, Guitar, and eventually bands, recording, and music production.

Music has been a long enjoyable journey in my life and I want others who have an interest in pushing their ideas further to have a space to work and create. This isn’t a high end studio environment where I have bills to pay off the expensive gear. I have some solid equipment we can use and I encourage you to bring your own stuff so you can take what you learn home with you and share it with the next person.

It’s fun to learn an instrument and more fun to learn to jam with other musicians. I want to provide a space where people can be creative and share their creativity with others. It gets you out of the house, off social media, and exposes you to new things.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are these piano lessons?

I do not teach piano lessons. Synthesizer lessons teach the fundamentals of subtractive synthesis. How to use filters, envelopes, LFOs, and oscillators.

Can I bring my own gear?

Absolutely. Ableton, Logic, DAW, a synth or drum machine. A group of instruments you’re not sure how to connect together with midi, let’s figure it out!

Can you record my band?

Not yet. We’re not a recording studio at the moment.

Do you offer group lessons?

Yes. I can do small group lessons. Details are when you sign up for booking.

Can I borrow gear?

No, we do not currently rent or loan gear.

Do I need to know how to read music to take synth lessons?

No, it doesn’t hurt to know some basics but it is not required. You can make really cool soundscapes without any knowledge of notes but I can also show you a few things to help you on your way.
